July the 7th. Today's the day when Tanabata, the annual Star Festival, is marked (actually it should be the 7th day of the 7th lunar month, which takes us well into August – but never mind that). Most people string colourful decorations from bamboo 'trees'.
But this little Italian pizzeria out in Niko-Tamagawa is doing it its own way — photos of its food hanging in a little olive shrub. Fair enough. We didn't go in, but they have a wood-fired oven, and the pizza looks worth eating (not sure about the other offerings)!
