We loved this one... Aramasa junmai ginjo. A special version that our local sake merchant pulled out of his fridge for us a while back.
It's from Akita. Yes, we've been imbibing for Tohoku again...
Love the label too — simple, uncluttered, understated...
We drank this at home with some good sashimi landed on the Shonan coast.
But it reminded me of another place... the good old izakaya of the same name in the back streets of Asakusa. "An unthreatening half-pace back to the postwar days of Showa..."
Can it really be almost 10 years since I wrote it up? Must have been, the photos were so shaky (this was long before digital) they never got put on the JT archives...
Such are the musings inspired by fine sake...
