These two magazines — Otoko-meshi (Man Food); and Meshi-Tomo (Food Friend) — are packed with pictures of sizzling yakiniku, steaming yakiton, glistening tonkatsu, horumon nabe (offal hotpots) etc. Call it B-kyu gurume (street-level gourmet) porn.
