A few more photos of my current favourite taiyaki outlet...
The griddles turn out a pretty fine version of classic taiyaki.
There's a good range of the snacks: the standard size, with regular red-bean filling (@ ¥170 each); a thinner style (@ ¥150); and small bite-sized versions (@ ¥350 for 6).
They also make a few "exotic" (ie non-standard) versions, with fillings such as smooth custard; yuzu-custard; "melting" matcha; and "sweet potato", made with Annou-imo (a special variety of satsuma-imo from Tanegashima).
They're a nice friendly young crew too.
PS [April 2011] — Sadly this funky little retro building is all boarded up now and looks like it doesn't have long to live. But it had a nice cheerful last hurrah thanks to Sakuraya and its taiyaki. Sayonara and otsukaresama...
