Here's the sort of mash-up of ideas that Japan is so good at. So what exactly is Espresso Tea? It's not tea-flavoured espresso coffee (or vice versa). The idea is more like 'canned tea that actually tastes of tea'. All the other canned teas on the market are just milky and sweet, and certainly don't have any of the kick that I expect from my morning cuppa.
So is it the same as Teapresso? Not at all. The idea here is to make a "tea latte" — i.e. a milky tea, and then flavour it, just the way it's done at Staba (as Starbucks is known, here in Japan). The idea of Chai Latte ain't so bad, or Tea Cuppcino. But Chocolate Berry tea? or Bubble Tea (with tapioca added) in blueberry, strawberry or caramel variations...??
